長周期光纖光柵的偏振相關(guān)損耗特性及其應(yīng)用研究

【摘要】:長周期光纖光柵(LPFG)是一種用途很廣的光纖光柵,由于其插入損耗小、帶寬寬、后反射很小、對(duì)外界環(huán)境變化的反應(yīng)靈敏度高、制作工藝簡單、成本低等很多優(yōu)點(diǎn),受到國內(nèi)外廣大研究人員的關(guān)注,并且在近年來的技術(shù)發(fā)展當(dāng)中,顯示出了極為廣闊的應(yīng)用前景。隨著研究的不斷深入,人們對(duì)LPFG功能需求標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的不斷提高,一些關(guān)于LPFG的新結(jié)構(gòu)、新特性、新應(yīng)用的研究已成為必然的發(fā)展趨勢。本論文的工作內(nèi)容圍繞著長周期光纖光柵的偏振相關(guān)損耗(PDL)展開,主要包括兩個(gè)方面,一是研究LPFG的PDL特性及其在扭轉(zhuǎn)傳感中的應(yīng)用。二是討論了相移長周期光纖光柵(PS-LPFG)和級(jí)聯(lián)長周期光纖光柵(C-LPFG)的光譜特性和PDL特性。首先,闡述LPFG的耦合模理論和傳輸矩陣法。詳細(xì)分析了LIFG的透射譜和模擬步驟,討論了周期數(shù)和平均折射率調(diào)制對(duì)其透射譜的影響。從LPFG的傳感模型出發(fā),分析了LPFG扭轉(zhuǎn)后的透射譜,并且對(duì)其偏振相關(guān)損耗的特性進(jìn)行了實(shí)驗(yàn)研究和仿真,作出相應(yīng)的理論分析對(duì)比。利用瓊斯矩陣和傳輸矩陣法,理論分析和數(shù)值模擬LPFG扭轉(zhuǎn)與PDL響應(yīng)的關(guān)系,通過測量PDL幅值變化,可實(shí)現(xiàn)不受應(yīng)變和溫度干擾,對(duì)扭轉(zhuǎn)傳感的測量。此外,可以同時(shí)獲得扭轉(zhuǎn)方向和扭轉(zhuǎn)角兩個(gè)量,實(shí)驗(yàn)結(jié)果和數(shù)值模擬有較好的吻合,扭轉(zhuǎn)靈敏度為2.7 dB/rad。理論分析和數(shù)值模擬了相移長周期光纖光柵的光譜特性,討論了PS-LPFG長度、相移位置、相移大小對(duì)PS-LPFG的PDL峰值的影響。對(duì)比分析了級(jí)聯(lián)長周期光纖光柵的傳感特性。可以發(fā)現(xiàn)LPFG級(jí)聯(lián)時(shí),一個(gè)細(xì)微的譜移會(huì)對(duì)損耗譜的高精細(xì)度的條紋產(chǎn)生的很大的波動(dòng)損失。并且討論了物理參量對(duì)其的影響。
[Abstract]:Long-period fiber grating (LPFG) is a kind of fiber gratings with a wide range of applications, such as low insertion loss, wide bandwidth, small back reflection, high sensitivity to changes in external environment, simple fabrication process, low cost, and so on. It has attracted the attention of researchers at home and abroad, and has shown a very broad application prospect in recent years. With the deepening of the research, the standard of LPFG function requirements has been improved, and some new structure, new characteristics and new applications of LPFG have become an inevitable trend of development. The work of this thesis is focused on the polarization dependent loss (PDL) of long-period fiber gratings, including two aspects. One is to study the PDL characteristics of LPFG and its application in torsion sensing. Second, the spectral and PDL characteristics of phase-shifted long-period fiber gratings (PS-LPFG) and cascaded long-period fiber gratings (C-LPFG) are discussed. Firstly, the coupled mode theory and transmission matrix method of LPFG are introduced. The transmission spectrum and simulation steps of LIFG are analyzed in detail. The effects of period number and average refractive index modulation on the transmission spectrum are discussed. Based on the sensing model of LPFG, the transmission spectrum after torsion of LPFG is analyzed, and the characteristics of polarization dependent loss of LPFG are studied experimentally and simulated, and the corresponding theoretical analysis and comparison are made. The relationship between LPFG torsion and PDL response is analyzed and numerically simulated by Jones matrix and transfer matrix method. By measuring the amplitude of PDL, the torsion sensing can be measured without strain and temperature interference. In addition, the torsion direction and torsion angle can be obtained simultaneously. The experimental results are in good agreement with the numerical simulation. The torsional sensitivity is 2.7 dB/rad.. The spectral characteristics of phase-shifted long-period fiber gratings are theoretically analyzed and numerically simulated. The effects of PS-LPFG length, phase shift position and phase shift size on the PDL peak value of PS-LPFG are discussed. The sensing characteristics of cascaded long period fiber gratings are compared and analyzed. It can be found that a small spectral shift in the LPFG cascade results in a large fluctuation loss of the high fineness stripes of the loss spectrum. The influence of physical parameters on it is also discussed.
