Laparoscopic intragastric surgery for early gastric cancer:a report of 8 cases.

Objective\ To design a new laparoscopic operation for the treatment of mucosal or submucosal gastric lesions.Methods\ The three trocars were placed in the gastric lumen,penetrating both the abdominal and stomach walls.The operation was then carried out in the gastric lumen with laparoscopic instruments and laparoscopic monitoring.Result\ In 8 cases,6 patients with early gastirc cancer,1 with a submucosal leiomyoma and 1 with giant polyp of the stomach were treated without any complications.Conclusion\ Laparoscopic intragastric surgery is an easy,safe and feasible procedure for mucosal or submucosal lesions of the stomach which cannot be treated by gastriofiberscopic technique.
